Childcare and Community Care
Overview
The childcare course will provide students with an understanding of the principles of a child’s development and the basic skills to pursue a career in childcare.
The community care course will provide students with the practical skills and knowledge for employment in the community care area.
Programme Structure
The course may be taken over a one or two year period. The certifying body is FETAC. Previous FETAC awards may be recombined with additional subjects to make up a new overall award.
FETAC Award: Childcare Level 5 (DCHSC) and Community Care Level 5 (DCHCC); Certificate in Community and Health Services
