Youth Work Act, 2001
The Youth Work Act, 2001 provides a legal framework for the provision of youth work programmes and services and gives statutory responsibility at national level to the Minister of Education and Science and at local level to the VEC’s for the development of youth work and it’s co-ordination with other services for young people.
It also provides for the development of planning of youth work at a local level by VEC’s.
The Act is in the process of being rolled out at a national level and we will keep you informed of any updates as they happen.
